Installation
Installing Artificer could not be simpler. If you are using the Unity Package Manager just search for Artificer in Your Assets. Once found select it in the results panel and then on the right hand side click the Download button. Once the download is complete click the Install Button.
You may see a Unity Package Manager window popup about dependencies, if so click the Install option. Artificer uses Unity packages such as Burst, Mathematics and Splines. This will install those. If on installing the Artificer package you see errors about missing references to things like Burst and Splines you will need to install those packages from the Package Manager.

Unity will then display an Import window with all the parts of the asset selected, click the Import button at the bottom and that will complete the install process. You are now ready to use Artificer.
The example scene included in Artificer uses the URP pipeline so you may need to convert the materials in the scene if they are purple. Select the Materials and use the Unity Material Convert wizard from the Edit/Rendering/Materials menu. If you are using the BuiltIn Pipeline then you can select the materials in the Project window and then go to the Tools/Artificer/Convert URP to Built In menu option to convert the URP lit materials to Builtin standard versions.
Supported Unity Versions
Artificer works Unity 2022.1 to 6.5. But with Unity 2022 and 2023 the Scene View Preview mode leaves trails. We are looking to see how to fix this but please do note this issue.
Due to the Asset using Unity Splines you need Unity 2022 onwards, If you are using a version of Unity prior to 2022 then please get in touch as there will be a version that supports MegaShapes for the splines or indeed other Spline solutions if there is a demand.
Demo Scene Example

Artificer comes with a simple demo scene with an object already setup to assemble and dismantle. It is a Jetty model from our Bell Rock Game and it has been set up to build from one of the crates with a simple bounce animation and when it dismantles it does so by exploding.
When the demo scene is run you will see a Button at the bottom Left of the screen you can click that to start the Dismantle animation and also to rebuild the object.
